Arturo Mejia Solorzano beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 23, 2022. He was 87 years old.
He was born May 3rd 1935 in Guatemala. Son of Jose Mejia Martinez and Josefa Solorzano.
At a very young age he was taught in the art of tailoring. By age 11 he was already a professional. Not too long after he got a job with the Guatemalan government where he served as a policeman and later as a teacher. Teaching many others in the art of Tailoring and Upholstery. He also enjoyed coaching Soccer and teaching Taekwondo. Pasttimes included playing chess and running marathons. After 30 years of service he retired and emigrated to the United States in 1986 moving his family to Arizona. In Arizona he aorked hard in many jobs so that his family could acheive the American Dream. Upon his retirement here he enjoyed time spent with family namely with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he attended with his wife of 52 years, Jesus Patricia Alvarado Mejia.
Arturo was kknow for his bright smile, sharp style and perseverance.
With heavy hearts we have to say goodbye until we can be together again, until then we will hold all of the memories, teachings and love he left us. We hope he knew that without him, his love, his patience and teachings nothing would have been possible.
He is survived by his wife, Jesus Patricia Alvarado Mejia. His sons: Yobani Mejia, Luis Mejia, Gustavo Mejia, Mario Mejia, Eric Enriquez. His daughters: Maria Mejia, Norma Mejia, Silvia Diaz, Sara Mejia, Alma Mejia. Many Grand kids and Great-Grandkids. He was preceeded in death by his father Jose Mejia Martinez, his mother Josefa Solorzano. Sons: Cesar Mejia, Gorge Mejia, Hugo Mejia, Jose Mejia, Juan Antonio Mejia.
Viewing will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 8 PM at Family Burial and Cremation; 237 South Sirrine, Ste 101, Mesa, AZ 85210.
Churech services will be hald on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 2244 West Keating Avenue, Mesa, AZ 85202. Graveside to follow services at the Queen Of Heaven Cemetery
