Bill Zopf, born on September 23,1947, earned the name of "incrediBill '' from his strength and courage over the last few years. On May 7, 2024, in the neighborhood of Encanterra, Arizona, Bill's journey came to a quiet close.
Bill was retired from the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Chicago, Local # 2.
Outside of work, Bill welcomed all who entered his home, sharing a drink with friends in celebration of their everything and nothing at all. He had the gift of turning strangers into friends and friends into family.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandi of 55 years, and his sons and daughters in law, Bill Jr./Maureen, Peter/Marilyn, and Joseph/Angela who will carry on his tradition of humor and kindness. Bill's family was his pride and joy, especially his grandchildren Sean, Samuel, Mary, Gabrielle, Isabella, Lily, Magdelena, Vincent, and Nathan. He was their inspiration, their storyteller, and their personal comedian, always ready with a joke or a quip to lighten the mood.
Bill's life was evidence of the power of laughter, the strength of kindness, and the warmth of generosity. He was a man who knew how to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, to find the humor in life's challenges, and to face each day with a smile.
His spirit will continue, leaving us all with smiles on our faces and a treasure of happy memories. Cheers to a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
