Bonnie Lee Brandenburg

Bonnie Lee (Kutter) Brandenburg, January 17, 1935-December 5, 2022.  Born to Ulysses and Mildred Kutter.  Bonnie grew up with her older brother John (Jack) Kutter in the small town of Peru, Illinois.  Growing up, Bonnie was full of life and enjoyed being adventurous with things such as trick water skiing.  After high school Bonnie attended the University of Iowa where she studied education, was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, and was a cheerleader.

Bonnie met her future husband Robert (Bob) Brandenburg while traveling to the 1957 Rose Bowl football game ("The GOLD RUSH of 1957").  Happily, the Hawkeyes were victorious and eventually so was Bob.  Bonnie and Bob married September 13, 1958.  Bonnie began her married life as an Airforce wife, school teacher, and golfer's wife.  Upon becoming the mother of two daughters (Cammie and Shelley), Bonnie stayed home to raise and cheer on her family by volunteering at school, community events, and even coached gymnastics at the girls gym.  With her husband (Bob) she enjoyed water skiing, tennis, golf, bridge, but most of all dancing!

After moving to Arizona in 1973, Bonnie began working as a manager of a tennis club.  With her bubbly positive spirit she was active in the community, while continuing to put her family first.  As the years passed, Bonnie continued her zest for life and being a cheerleader for her husband, daughters, and eventually grandchildren.  Later in life you could still see Bonnie leading a train of dancing grandchildren behind her.

Throughout her life Bonnie was her family's biggest cheerleader, always upbeat, there and supportive.  She was a teacher, mentor, everyone's best friend.  Now with pom poms on her wings, her family is comforted knowing she will continue to cheer until they dance together again.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Brandenburg, two daughters Cammie Washburn (Daryl) and Shelley Erickson.  Grandchildren:  Branden Stevens (Erica), Kelcie Granby (Alan), Dustin Stevens, Kirstie Erickson, Kassidy Erickson and Samantha Erickson along with four great grandchildren.
