In Loving Memory of Bruce Lynn Strom
January 22, 1951 – June 12, 2025
Bruce Strom, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He faced his illness with incredible strength, grace, and humor—fighting “like a boss” every step of the way.
Born on January 22, 1951, in Fargo, North Dakota, Bruce lived a full and meaningful life. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Metropolitan State University and went on to receive his MBA from the University of Houston. Bruce’s life was grounded in love, faith, and family—and he carried that foundation into everything he did.
Bruce is survived by his daughters Adrienne Schippers (Daniel) and Serena Fernandez (William), and by his wife of 10 years, Cynthia Strom. He was a proud grandfather to Cameron and Henry (children of Adrienne and Daniel), and Zachary, Chloe, Jonathan, Eli, and Timothy (children of Serena and William). Bruce also embraced Cynthia’s children as his own: Cerina Hurst, mother of Ruby Gibson, and Collin Dye, father of Juniper and River Dye.
Bruce was known for his adventurous spirit and his generous heart. He loved traveling—especially back to North Dakota and South Dakota—and he and Cynthia shared unforgettable memories on cruises, including the time he went swimming with stingrays. He was always ready for a new adventure.
A true handyman, Bruce was the one everyone turned to—“If Daddy couldn’t fix it, no one could.” He was rarely seen without a handkerchief in his back pocket, and his bear hugs were legendary. He had a deep love of music and used his talents joyfully—singing as a baritone in the church choir and playing trumpet in his high school marching band.
One of the highlights of Bruce’s final year was returning to North Dakota for his 55th high school reunion, where he reconnected with lifelong friends and reflected joyfully on his roots.
Bruce is also lovingly remembered as a brother by his siblings: Vicki Fine, Robin Trammel, Trace Dunaway, Heidi Ozalvo, Erik Strom, Rodney Sauter, and Stewart Sauter.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lorraine, his stepfather Howard, and his father Jerome Strom. Bruce is now reunited with them—and his beloved great-grandparents—who welcomed him home with open arms. He now rests in eternal peace among them.
