Cheryl Leckey

August 8, 1959 — May 7, 2025

Mesa

The world became brighter, louder, and far more fabulous on August 8,1959, when Cheryl Leckey made her grand entrance. On May 7, 2025, she made an equally dazzling exit — leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and rock and roll.

Cheryl had a personality too big to be contained. She was wild in the best way — a free spirit with a heart full of love, a laugh that filled every room, and a spark that made ordinary days feel like celebrations. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and never once apologized for being entirely, unapologetically herself.

She is survived by her parents, Rosemary and Richard; her brothers, Rick and Howard; and her children, Amy, Angelo, and David. Her love continues through her grandchildren: Miriam, Augustino, Constatine, and Eduardo Jimenez; Lily and Ivy Corona; Daisy Mae Gaunt; and her great-grandson, Antonio Jimenez.

Cheryl adored her family and loved nothing more than being surrounded by those she held dear. Whether it was sweet tea on the porch, boba tea adventures, long drives with the windows down, or the sound of her grandbabies laughing, she found joy in life's simple, beautiful moments. She loved every pet she ever owned — and if it wagged its tail, Cheryl loved it twice as much.

She had a taste for the timeless and the whimsical — elegant vintage antiques, bold and beautiful clothing, and stunning pixie haircuts that turned heads. And if rock and roll was playing, you could bet she was dancing along, smiling wide, and soaking in the music.

Cheryl will be celebrated on one of her favorite days — Día de los Muertos — a day she loved for its color, beauty, and joyful remembrance of loved ones. Her family and friends will honor her life on November 2, 2025, 1:00 pm at Family Burial and Cremation 237 S. Sirrine, Mesa, Az., with laughter, music, stories, and bright colors that reflect the way she lived.

She leaves behind more than memories: she leaves warmth, joy, and a wild sparkle in the hearts of everyone she touched.
