Forever Loved Dixon Andrew Jackson, age 36, has returned home with our God that created him. Dixon was born on July 9, 1988, in Springerville, AZ and lived with his family in St Johns, AZ until the age of 11 when the family moved to Mesa, AZ. Dixon was the first-born son to Delton Jackson and Dian Hauser Jackson.
In the beginning before Dixon could walk, with his binky in his mouth, off he went with either his dad, or his Poppa, Jim Hauser, to work on Poppa’s farm. Dixon got his first pair of wrangler jeans, cowboy boots and hat as soon as he could walk. He was happiest when driving the tractor, plowing, discing, cutting hay, baling hay and irrigation.
Over the years, Dixon worked and traveled in multiple states: Wyoming, North Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, Texas, Washington, Oregon, and Nebraska. Throughout his life, Dixon was always drawn back to farming for work. When he passed, he was farming in Minnesota. Dixon had a unique ability to master the skill of operating virtually all types/sizes of equipment including Coal Dragline, Blade, Excavator, 3 types of Cranes, ALL farm equipment, Dozer, Haul truck and Front-end loaders. Dixon loved his family and friends so much. He had a special grandpa-grandson relationship with his Poppa. Poppa taught him many life skills and lessons while working on the farm. Dixon was always interested in what Poppa’s life was like growing up in Iowa and listening to all his stories and asking questions.
All in his schooling years Dixon excelled in academics and basketball. Those 2 things came easy to Dixon. He left behind many friends in St. John’s when we moved and made many friends in Mesa, but he never liked living in the city. He was a small town, farming boy: "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy." At 16, Dixon moved back to St Johns and lived with his grandparents, Jim and Kay Hauser his junior and senior year of high school. One of his dreams was to be a St. Johns Redskin basketball player and he was able to be part of the team.
He received the SJHS Basketball Rookie of the Year award in 2005. He was ranked top 9 in Arizona for most 3 pointers made. Dixon earned the rank of Eagle Scout and participated in raising pigs in the 4-H Livestock program. Dixon leaves a legacy built with a resolve of overcoming trials and hard work.
He is survived by his parents, Delton Jackson and Dian Hauser Jackson, grandparents Jim and Kay Hauser. Grandfather Howard Jackson. Sisters Deanica, Danae Smith (John), Darci Gardner (Bobby). Brothers Dallas (Angel), Damon (Briana), and Delton. Dixon's children, Hesston, Gatlin and Hattie Mae and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
