Kayla, at the tender age of 26, departed this world on December 18, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and a spirit that will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born on June 10, 1997, Kayla was the beloved daughter of Dorian and Floyd Laborde. She is Survived by her devoted parents, her siblings Emily and Jacob Laborde, her nanny Jennifer Guillory, her cousin Damon Guillory, and her grandfather Michael Volker. She was preceded in death by Martha Ducote, Martha Volker, Melanie Juneau, and Floyd Laborde Sr.
Kayla's journey through life was marked by an unwavering determination and a free-spirited nature that touched the lives of all who crossed her path. She approached every challenge with a fearless resolve, never backing down and consistently overcoming obstacles with grace and perseverance.
In a final act of generosity, Kayla embraced the opportunity to be an organ donor, a testament to her compassionate and giving nature. Even in death, she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of others, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness.
Fondly nicknamed "Sweetie-Baby #1" by her beloved Maw Maw, Kayla will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her zest for life, and the joy she brought to those around her. She loved her mother, who she called "Madre", and she never forgot where home is. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share her journey.
