Robert "Bob" Clark Brandenburg, January 28, 1936 - July 19, 2024. Born to Stanley and Geraldine Brandenburg, in Waterloo, Iowa. Beloved father and grandfather Bob, is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and older brother Stanley, he leaves behind two daughters, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Growing up, Bob was active in several sports, but most of all GOLF. After high school, Bob attended the University of Iowa where he studied business, was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, the manager of the football team, and played golf. Bob met his future wife, Bonnie, who was a University of Iowa cheerleader while traveling with the football team to the 1957 Rose Bowl football game ("The GOLD RUSH of 1957"). Happily, the Hawkeyes were victorious and eventually so was Bob. Bob and Bonnie married September 13, 1958. Bob then entered the Air Force and was stationed in New Mexico, where he became a father. Following this, his career started with Weyerhauser and he began his business journey in Wisconsin, when he became a second time father. A few years later Bob and his family moved to Minnesota where they spent seven years before arriving at their permanent home in Arizona.
In his spare time if Bob wasn't golfing he was coaching youth basketball, refereeing high school basketball, water skiing, was a member of a bridge club and a dance club with his wife (he was an excellent dancer).
Throughout his life Bob could often be found golfing with friends or clients. Bob was an incredible golfer and spent an enormous amount of time on the golf course. He even managed to bring his love of golf into his business by networking which allowed him more time doing what he loved. Bob's dream was to live on a golf course which he ended up accomplishing when his children were grown. Bob was patient, dependable, generous, humble, and always supporting his family and friends. If Bob was devoted to anything more than his family it was golf!
Bob was loved and admired for his calm, positive, and upbeat demeanor, he will be greatly cherished. Now reuniting with his wife in Heaven, not with a harp in hand, but a golf club. His family is comforted knowing that he is enjoying the miraculous golf courses in Heaven.
Robert is survived by his two daughters Cammie Washburn (husband Darryl) and Shelley Erickson. Grandchildren Branden Stevens (wife Erica), Kelcie Granby (husband Alan), Dustin Stevens, Kirstie Erickson, Kassidy Erickson, and Samantha Erickson along with five great grandchildren.
