Ruby Maxcine Claudin LeSueur

November 20, 1930 — July 5, 2023

GILBERT

Ruby Maxcine Claudin LeSueur left this world peacefully to be with her husband James Kay LeSueur and her son David Ryan LeSueur.

Maxcine, as she was known by family and friends, was born November 20th, 1930 in Springville, Utah and was the daughter of C.O. and Ruby Claudin.  She lived her years before marriage in Provo, Utah.

Maxcine was a gifted ballet dancer and performed often including the Promised Valley production in 1947 which celebrated the strength and faith of the early Mormon pioneers.  She taught dance for many years.

She met her husband, James Kay LeSueur while performing on campus at BYU.  He caught a glimpse of this beautiful young woman in a hula skirt, followed her, and asked her out.  This was the moment that sparked a journey together of 47 years.  Kay and Maxcine had three sons, Warren, David, and Larry.  These boys won the parent lottery!  Maxcine was an incredibly loving mother and always showed a keen interest in their lives.  She had the cherished ability to make others feel so special. She loved her family fiercely.

Maxcine had a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ and followed His example by serving others.  She never gave up on anyone! She worked tirelessly helping those in need as a Stake and Ward Relief Society President, Primary President, and many other church callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She volunteered for many years with both LDS Social Services and Save the Family of Arizona

In 1973, her son David died.  Although they experienced great sorrow, Maxcine and Kay were certain that one day they would be reunited with David.  Kay passed away in 1998 as a result of a car accident in which Maxcine survived.  She always shared how much she missed her husband and son and that they would be together again one day.

Maxcine left this earthly existence on July 5th, 2023, on David's birthday!  What an incredible present for him to be reunited with his lovely mother after 50 years!  We can only imagine the moment that our Mom, Dad, and David were together again!  What a blessing!  She also reunited with her father, mother, sister Pauline, and brother Bill all of whom she longed to see.

Maxcine is survived by her sons Warren and Larry and her daughters-in-law Carolyn and Shelly who she made clear were her daughters!  She leaves her grandchildren Kris, Jimmy, Steven, Kelsey, J.T., Kyle, Drew, Ryan, Lindsey, and Lauren.  Her 45 great-grandchildren will miss their beloved GiGi. She dearly loves all of her "little drips" as she affectionately called all of us ("Ya little drip!").

We love you and will miss you until we meet again!

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 8:30 am on July 8th at the Mesa Cemetery at 1212 N. Center St. Mesa, AZ 85201.
